Washington AP The Civil Aeronautics Board has delayed approving Northwest Airlines plan for a coach service in Alaska with as few as 50 folding seats. A CAB spokesman said the board typically requires higher capacity, noting reduced fare coach rules for 4 engine planes need at least 76 seats. Alaskan Insects Found Sixty Million Years Old
The Arctic Institute of North America announced discovery of fossilized insects embedded in Alaskan amber. Researchers Dr. Robert Usinger and Dr. R. F. Smith of the University of California led the study, using bedrock amber from the Colville River valley found with help from the U. S. Geological Survey.
