A complaint charges unknown individuals with larceny and possession of stolen property. The firm plans to replace gear as a Seattle strike disrupts Alaska bound supplies. The Reefer Clipper patrols Kodiak waters and the Dan ger Bay plant began operations last season on Afognak Island.

Father Gallant Visiting Here in Kodiak
Father G Edgar Gallant superintendent of Pius X School at Skagway arrived in Kodiak Wednesday and will stay until about June 1. He is well known here and six years ago accompanied the Grey Nuns to Kodiak to take over Griffin Memorial Hospital. He recently attended the statehood hearings in Washington. While here he is staying at the hospital. Harlan Mahle, former Kodiakian and student at the school, accompanied him. Mrs Mary E Cook works at the Home Realty Co and Home Delivery office owned by Jim Spracher, located where Leonard's Jewelry used to be.

Safe Taken From Marine Club Safe
The Marine Club at NOB was burglarized Tuesday night with a 200 pound safe and contents removed. Major G G Ryffe said entry was by breaking a window and the theft was found at 8 am Wednesday. Base authorities pursue leads to recover the safe and identify thieves.

VEW Auxiliary Plans Drum and Bugle Corps
The VEW post auxiliary plans a drum and bugle corps and a drum majorette corps for the July 4th parade. Mrs. Robert C. King chairs, with a $500 budget. Edna Lee Dixon will train volunteers at no charge while Nancy Ann Pana maroff and Dolores Jones train the majorettes. Any teen may join via Mrs. Dixon at the school music hut in the afternoon. capes and overseas caps are planned, the drum and bugle corps will use four bugles and nine drums.

Admiral Sprague Sails to Command 17th Naval District
Rear Admiral Clifton Sprague sailed aboard the Denali to Kodiak to assume command of the 17th Naval District and the Alaska Sea Frontier. He will base his headquarters in Kodiak with Mrs. Sprague accompanying him, relieving Rear Admiral Frank D. Wagner who is retiring. The Shuyak island mailboat departed for a circuit around the island this week.

The Kodiak MIRROR reports guesses for the 1950 city population range from 1100 to 3500 in its Contest Nose Count. The Bank of Kodiak offers a 25 dollar bond to the closest guess to the official population. Entries, limited to one per person, must be mailed to Contest Nose Count Box A 705 Kodiak by June 3. The winner will be announced when the census figures are released.

Water Woes Hit Kodiak As Main Breaks And Tanks Run Dry
A week of heavy rain left Kodiak short of water when a six inch wooden main at the city dock blew a cap around 2 pm Thursday. Earlier a six inch steel elbow failure forced city to switch lines. By 4 pm the city tank level fell 16 feet. repair crews plugged the leak and by morning supply neared normal as both tanks resumed use. The Whiz Hafferty dam plant and hospital faced brief shortages during the outage.

Dinner Tickets On Sale For Wagner Farewell
