City Sets Sewer And Water Rates
Four ordinances passed by the city council establish sewer and water hook up rules within 150 feet of lines, fees for connections, and monthly rates. Water charges include a 2.50 basic residential rate and 0.50 per additional outlet, plus business rates. plumbing licensure and inspections are required, and a salary ordinance is set for city staff.
City council issues second warning on unauthorized sewer connections
The council warns against unauthorized hookups to the new water and sewer mains and requires applications with the city clerk. Violations carry up to a $100 fine and 30 days in jail or both. Existing hookups must apply at the clerk’s office and pay a $5 hookup fee. See Notices on page 4.
Tacopetti convicted in Kodiak safe theft case
Anchorage Alaska report says Alvin E. Tacopetti was found guilty by a jury after about an hour of deliberation of stealing a 500 pound safe from the Schultz apartment behind Ship's Tavern in Kodiak on October 21, 1942. The safe contained more than 30000 dollars in cash and 5000 dollars in jewelry.
