Inauguration of Kodiak new radio-telephone service
Kodiak launched its long distance radio-telephone system at 8 am on Thursday linking the city with Seattle and destinations Seattle can reach. The first call was made by T-3 Jack Kotlovker to his mother in Asbury Park New Jersey. The first civilian call shortly after 8:30 am connected Emil Knudsen of the Kodiak Fountain to Mrs. Knudsen in Seattle as they tested voice quality.
