The deeds would be issued upon petition to the Secretary of the Interior or a designated representative, making the land saleable and taxable. Announcement states the Kodiak Mirror is sold by Mr and Mrs William H Lamme to Mr and Mrs Melton L Crawford. The deal includes the newspaper and job printing department and becomes effective April 1. Mrs Crawford has been city editor since December. Mr Crawford worked in Krafts hardware and formerly in Knudens management. The Lammes, who bought the paper Dec 5 1941 from Gene Dawson, plan a vacation to the States this summer before returning to Kodiak.

Missing Boy Found in Car in School Yard
Seven year old Michael Folsom was missing after leaving the Community Center at 7 pm. A multi hour search by his family, volunteers, and firemen found him at 5 am asleep in a car in the school yard. A bloodhound aided the search, tracing from bed clothes near the boy.

Denali Due Today With 340 Tons Of Freight

Lee C. Bettinger will seek another term as mayor with nominations from the Central Labor Council and the Progressive Party. For city council, Bill Worth, Karl Brunstad, and Tom Nachand were filed. Wilton White is the school board nominee, with a petition circulated for White. Kodiak businessmen endorsed Bettinger and named Pat Cannon, J. Norman, and John C. Hughes for council. White also the school board nominee. The Labor council cited Bettinger’s past accomplishments including the army dock purchase and water system terms. Ken Wade withdrew from the school bond race. About 75 residents have registered, says registrar Myrna Perkins.
