KEA Elects and Reports Deficit in Kodiak Rehab Effort
Kodiak electrical association KEA held a Monday meeting with 70 members to elect directors and review the rehabilitation program. Ted Rozak reported plant capacity 520 KW with December peak 435 KW and $442,382 in engine maintenance costs last year. A 1947 deficit of $3,185 was reported with $166,400 remaining on loans. The annual Red Cross campaign in Kodiak opens Monday and runs through next Saturday. Tom Utterback chairs the drive with fund collection by high and grade school students after school and on Saturdays. No goal is set. donations are voluntary. Kodiak canneries have contributed 210 dollars so far: Kodiak Fisheries 100, Parks 25, Whit Fishd Products 25, Chatham Strait 25, Port Wakefield 25, Grimes 10.

Chance Seen For Boat Harbor Aid In Kodiak
Kodiak may begin small boat harbor construction this spring with territorial funds from gasoline taxes. A A Owen Jr chair of the dock committee says highway engineer Frank Metcalfe will visit March 14 to discuss starting the project.
