Wildlife Agent Returns From Trip
Frank Beals, refuge manager of the Aleutian and Kodiak Island Wildlife Refuges, returned this week from a two month summer trip to inspect sea otter populations and reproduction and to seal blue fox pelts. He reported the sea otters are doing well with many young, and noted cooperation from armed forces with the Fish and Wildlife preservation program. He journeyed by plane and small boat visiting Cold Bay False Pass Sanak Scotch Cap Cape Saunchef King Cove and Amchitka before returning via Anchorage to Kodiak.
