iCeck Case Dismissed in Alaska Case
The United States case against Henry Kittelson, charged with writing a bad check before leaving Kodiak, was dismissed yesterday by U S Commissioner C C Vaughton on the motion of U S District Attorney Noel K Weinblom, Anchorage. Kittelson was detained in Ketchikan after a complaint signed by W K Steele alleged he gave the W J Erskine Co a $151 check returned for insufficient funds.

Death Notice of Chris Haritonoff at Griffin Memorial
Chris Haritonoff aged 66 died at Griffin Memorial hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 pm at the Russian Church parsonage with interment in the local cemetery. Death was caused by cancer after a recent outside trip for medical attention. Born in Kodiak he was married and divorced and is survived by one daughter whose whereabouts are unknown.

Three year old David Arvidson died as fire ripped through the Arvidson home near midnight Saturday. Five other children were saved. Coast Guard bosn’s mate Homer Sanders nearly died, found unconscious in smoke. he and two firefighters extracted him. Neighbors could not reach the blaze in time. the mother and daughter Rosemary were out of town.

City Council acts on sewer water street lighting and grants
At Monday's regular session the council heard the city now operates the sewerage system under Beckett and Co until work finishes. They will seek individual fittings for the new water line as the storage project nears completion. A committee was named to decide hydrant locations. The street lighting plan will proceed with the EEA power plant expansion by March 1. A fire chief appointment was tabled, a special meeting was set on easement with Talmage Smith which resulted in a $400 payment. An ordinance to license uncovered businesses was ordered and a cat erpillar and grader purchase for 1600 FOR Springfield Ohio was authorized if equipment matches representation.
