Kodiak Elect ric Association members will meet Monday March 1 at 8 pm in Blinn's hall to elect a nine member board and conduct other business. By laws may be amended to allow removal of a director who misses two consecutive meetings. nominees include Harvey W. Edward Charles Hopp Emil Knudsen and others. Street and house marker project begins with 60 names
C F Moe started the street marker program this week to place 60 name markers and 2000 plastic house numbers. Posts will be seven feet tall with black on white street names, and reflective numbers will be affixed to buildings. Numbers start at Alaska Way and Brooklyn with directional designations and odd/even sides.

Man Dies On island Ranch
George Scroggs age 45 died Tuesday at his Harvester Island home from a ruptured appendix after a Saturday Kodiak trip. Survived by wife Mary and seven children he had lived in Alaska four years, previously in Kodiak, and ran a livestock farm with partner Carl Killian. Born 1898 in Montag Texas, he was a member of the American Legion. Funeral services branded by the American Legion will be held today at the Community Baptist church with burial in the local cemetery. He is noted as a survivor of the Phyl's St wreck near here last December.
