Bears Lose To Nome In Tourney
Kodiak High School Bears were knocked out of the Far Rendezvous tournament by fast Nome, 46 to 40. Nome, rival and twice runner-up to Kodiak in Class B finals, outran the Bears to win the tourney this year. Kodiak had previously fallen to Nome twice and beat Kodiak Naval Station and Wasilla.

Sailor Murders Wife Then Commits Death By Own Action
Clarence R Ghoshon 20 boatswain mate second class at Kodiak Naval Station shot and killed his wife Minnie Dabney Ghoshon 26 then killed himself at their South Brooklyn Avenue home. She worked as a cook at Island Fountain. The coroner's juries found the deaths occurred within hours of each other after evidence showed the gun was fired the day before. A note dated February 17 1951 described insurance arrangements and relatives to notify.
