Talmage Smith, local attorney, named city registrar by the council to supervise the April 3 election for mayor four councilmen and a city treasurer. Registration is open until 4 pm Saturday before the vote at the designated city office. Filing for candidates runs until March 19 midnight.
A one act religious drama titled Brazilian 301d by Elliot Field will be presented at 7 30 pm at the Community Baptist Church. The modern drama explores the Gospel of Christ in that land and its impact on individuals. Participants include Misses Charlotte Jae Nielson Ann Pavloff and Mrs G S Morony and Messrs Ark Edgar Burress Gale Manon Clifton Perkins.
A fire alarm sounded at 1:11 pm Sunday at the Polar Bear Cafe during chimney repair. No damage was reported.

The city council repealed an ordinance banning liquor sales after 6 pm on Sundays. The rule, added in June 1941 at naval officials' request due to Monday work losses, mainly affected restaurants with liquor licenses, which had already sold beer and wine after 6 on Sundays without enforcement. Kodiak eyes a $75,000 school grant. city proposes matching funds to replace the 1928 building with additions.
The city council on Monday authorized an initial expenditure of 1500 dollars to begin repair work on Mission road and where needed on streets in town.
