Larry Lee Rand a 34 year old civilian Navy worker was crushed when a large cat forklift toppled while crews removed equipment at the Danger Bay sawmill near Baran of Cove Afog Nak Island. Witnesses say he attempted to jump as the machine began to overturn. His spinal column was severed. Rand had lived four years in the area on Mission Road and was born in Wadena Wisconsin. His wife Rose Rand is his next of kin.
