Orin D. Seybert of Peninsula Airways inaugurated Kodiak's new city airport for commercial traffic at Pilot Point Alaska. He landed his five place Comanche on the strip Friday and left Sunday with passengers for Chignik. Seybert called the strip fine and said it should aid the town as local pilots inspected the retractable gear aircraft. Future development drawings will be publicly displayed soon.

Emil Norton, superintendent of Tagura Road Cannery, reports king crab processing this year is lighter than last year though activity persists. About 43 boats fish mainly in Alitak. 56 workers handle packing and freezing as Sunris e and G W King Boats deliver crabs. 12 000 crabs, roughly 130 000 pounds, have been brought in this week. Fortu na will pick up 60 000 pounds as EILEEN returns to service after a breakdown and Bob Resoff travels to Seattle for company work.
