Kris Kringle Attends Show At Orpheum Theatre

Santa Claus arrived by reindeer to the Orpheum Theatre for Rotary sponsored Christmas party. About 500 children enjoyed two shows with fruits and candy gifts, a Yugoslavian themed play, chorus music, and a solo by Alma Nelson. Some children were turned away from the first show, while Danielle Bal received a private visit from Santa after the second performance.

Christmas Services at St Marys Church Plan

Christmas services at St Marys Church begin with a midnight High Mass in the Community Center. Parish choir performs Montani Missa Brevis with Gregorian Gloria and Credo. Adeste Fidelis for offertory, Jesum Christum Regis for communion. Carols in English before and after the mass. An 8:30 am mass will be at the hospital chapel. A final 10:30 am mass ends with Benediction.

Federal Jail Nears Completion

The new federal jail nears completion as windows are installed and the cork insulated roof is prepared after cement pours. A temporary wooden canvas roof covers the structure resembling a circus tent, to remain until the final roof is finished. Copper and brass plumbing with modern check valves and fire hose connections are installed, and the heating plant is being set up. Duets for the unit are staged at the city dock.
