Christmas Program At Community Baptist Church

A Christmas evening program at Community Baptist Church features the Children Choir singing Why the Chimes Rang with speaking parts by Rev Rowland N Wilkinson Jasper Holman and Marvin Fox. The event includes tableau scenes, pantomimes, and musical selections by the Senior and Junior Choirs and Youth Choir with Mrs Johnson and Estelle Marlin at the piano and organ. Mrs Johnson also plays the offertory. the service ends with benediction and organ postlude. Participants include Jean Hamilton Myrna Wolkoff Leoe Simeonoff Michael Folsom Nadina Squartsoff Simeon Alexandroff Ralph Wolkoff Hobart Dawson Robert Koch James Heglin David Pestrikoff. In charge are Rev Wilkinson Mrs Springbill and Miss Marlin.

Open House at Baptist Mission Sunday Event

Nine staff workers and 37 children will host an open house at the Baptist Mission on Sunday December 28 from 3 to 5 pm. Town and base residents are invited and refreshments will be served.

Toshwak, once convicted for murder of a son and later freed, allegedly tied to a brother in law’s death, was found dead in Afogoak with facial injuries after a Tuesday night dance. Deputy Marshal Paul Herring and U S Commissioner reported a wire on Thursday. investigation continues.

New Year's Dance Planned in Kodiak by Firemen

The annual Firemen's Ball will ring in New Year December 31 at the Community Center under volunteer sponsorship. Proceeds fund fire equipment. Committee members include Charles Rush Eric Blankenburg Tiny Tesarik and Ken Wade. Town Kids with Lorraine Magnusen Joe Heitman Jr and Bea Malutin provide music from 9 p m to 1 am.

Rotary and Kodiak Schools Present Christmas Party at Orpheum

The Rotary Club and Kodiak Schools stage a Christmas program at the Orpheum Theatre Tuesday at 7 p.m. Santa delivers gifts, followed by a Nativity carol service directed by Mrs. John Springhi. A 2 p.m. show offers an adults’ performance. Stan Nelson leads the Rotary gifts effort. Cast includes Mary Arlene Herring Joseph Alfred Anderson and Three Kings. Glee Club and Grade School Chorus perform under several directors with many students listed. Teachers and high school students assist with props, costumes, and set design.
