Icy roads trigger near fatal Brooklyn street collision
On a Brooklyn hill near Hemlock a machine driven by Oscar Dotson slid into a stalled car owned by Louise Barker. Barker, a civil service employee, was out of the car when the crash occurred and was temporarily buried under the weight of the machine but survived with bruises and cuts. Police declared Dotson innocent of violations and helped remove Barker to hospital where she was treated.

Brother Sailor Deserts hoax at Adak base revealed
Two brothers impersonated each other at Adak Alaska with one enlisting temporarily. Richard Allen Kelley Jr. 19, fireman apprentice USN, was detached from USS Porterfield in Sept 1960 and ordered to report to Adak. The younger brother William swapped identities, posing as Richard from Oct 14 to Dec 13, then fled. Richard Jr. is ordered picked up as a deserter. unlikely to be home for Christmas.

Funeral services for Rhonda Lynn Olssen four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Richard Olssen of Kodiak were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Kodiak Catholic church Burial was in the Catholic cemetery north of town A great number of her childhood playmates attended the services The child was burned badly last week and she passed away last Saturday morning She was playing grown up lady when her clothing caught fire She is survived by her parents one brother and one sister.

Crews Install Beacons In Small Boat Harbor
Crews will work at night from Friday to install two beacons in the Small Boat Harbor as a safety measure.
