Former Orpheum Theatre manager Bob Sunday died on Sitkinak Island near Kodiak on November 11 from a heart attack while returning to his cabin after a storm stranded the group. Alfred Naumoff and Alfred Azhuyak, both of Alitak, accompanied him on the trip to salvage a motor. The trio left their cabin in a dory for a raft shoreward, but a sudden storm forced them to hike craggy terrain as Sunday weakened and Naumoff helped carry him for miles before they found an unfordable stream and waited for the tide.
