Kodiak Case Appeals Denied in District Court
An appeal in the District Court for the case J. Erskine & Co. v Karl was dismissed here in December. The civil suit, over an outboard motor claimed by Komm, had previously been tried in Justice Court before C. C. Naughton on August 22, which ruled for the defendant. Hunting Party Nets 3 Moose Near Sum it Lake

Fred Marquart Dies Wednesday
Fred C. Marquart, 438, died Wednesday evening at the post hospital after six weeks’ illness due to miliary tuberculosis. A longtime longshoreman here, he had worked for Siems Drake and, at admission, for the Army. Born in 1901 in Minnesota, he is survived by a brother Walter in Hancock and other Minnesota relatives. Funeral plans await word from relatives.

Former Residents Buy Cordova Windsor Hotel
Mr and Mrs William Miller formerly of Kodiak bought the Windsor Hotel in Cordova from Mr and Mrs A L Jackson who ran it the past year and a half. Miller known for boating and deep sea fishing, Windsor marks his first hotel venture. The hotel dates to 1908 and was once run by Linc Wain and later owned by Oscar Breedman the Lathrop company and the Jacksons.
