Youths over two will hear that Rotary plans a better indoor Christmas event at the Orpheum with scenery by the school shop and Miss Betty Carter directing music and pageant. Max Folsom leads the effort with Charles Madsen and Walter Sipprell arranging gift bags, candy from Aleutian Candy, fruit, and a novelty for each child. Two programs are tentatively set for Christmas Eve to reduce crowding. more details will follow.

Pilot Killed In Crash Near Imuruk Lake
Don George, a young Ferguson Airways pilot, died when his small seaplane crashed into a hillside on a Nome to Kotzebue flight near Imuruk Lake. Wreckage was found after a week by a pilot traveling from Anchorage to Candle. He was based in Kodiak this summer flying charter trips for Carl Martin and is survived by his uncle, U. S. Deputy Marshal Joe McDonald of Fairbanks. he was to wed an Anchorage girl next spring.

Christmas Boat Is Due Sunday
The S. S. Cordova, which was in Ketchikan Wednesday, is due at Kodiak Sunday morning, according to a wire from the Alaska Steamship agent there. The boat has over 400 tons for town, and after a stop at the base will go up country. It will leave Kodiak southbound about a week after its arrival.
