Bear Film Shown At Outdoorsmen Meeting
An hour long film depicted Kodiak bears family life with cubs learning to forage under the mother bear's guidance. Members called the viewing a rare treat. Skating parties planned for Wednesday and Sunday were postponed due to warm weather and skating and sledding events are planned for the winter months.

Sentence Men for Chiniak Break-Ins
Three Kodiak men pleaded guilty to burglarizing more than 30 Chiniak dwellings. U.S. District Judge McCarvey Jr. sentenced each to one year in prison with portions suspended. Arch ie R Bindara, John A Richart and Russell L Diamond had four to seven months suspended as part of the sentence. They were captured returning with a carload of groceries by Navy Station Security, Marine Guards, and the U S Deputy Marshal's office, and were taken to Anchorage for trial.
