Local diesel mechanic Al Rhodes, 39, vanished after being seen near Club Liquor store around 11 30 p m on November 24 while headed toward the boat Tippy at the Standard Oil float. He stayed aboard the boat during the winter and is sought by the marshal's office for information.

Madsen Presents Bear Film At Rotary Club Meeting

Alf Madsen showed color films of a bear hunt on Kodiak Island and a big game hunt in Africa at the Rotary Club gathering. Walt Muller joined, Larry Wodlinger rejoined after a long absence, and guests included Bob Acheson and Pat Lynch. Capt Sylvia Gazze, a former member now assigned to a new aircraft carrier, was also present and will soon depart Kodiak. President J H Marts expressed regret at Gazze’s departure while congratulating his new command.

Fire damages at Ladd Field in extreme cold
