The Veterans Administration officer Joseph LaFournaise will be in Kodiak from noon December 6 through December 10. He will conduct hours at Naval Station December 6 to 9 and VFW post rooms December 9 and 10. All veterans may contact him at either location for assistance. A game hearing is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday December 7 at Union Hall as announced by the Fish and Wildlife Service.

Edward Connors Dies Of Injuries In Ashland Accident
Edward C. Connors died at Medford Community Hospital from injuries after being struck by a log truck on a crosswalk in Ashland Oregon. A former Kodiak resident and Civil Service electrician, he moved to Ashland after retiring from naval work post World War II. He is survived by his wife Margaret.

Indicted Alaska Telephone officials tied to bond sale scheme
A Federal Grand Jury charged Walter Tellier, Elton Jones, Albert Proctor, and others in New York with selling about 900000 dollars of Alaska Telephone Corporation bonds. First mate awarded damages in boat mishap
