Two Brown Bear crewmen convicted of assault in U S Commissioner's court
Joe Hoyt and Guy Spellman were each found guilty of assault and battery, sentenced to 60 days in jail and fined $150 with the fine suspended. Cordova Galley Fire Damages Boat at Erskine Dock
A fire in the Cordova galley at Erskine's dock was spotted around 3 am Thursday by a night watchman and put out with little damage. A blower motor was ruined and soot circulated, likely starting when the range backfired. The galley crew and about 60 aboard moved to the Polar Bear cafe for breakfast and the galley resumed serving lunch.
