Ivor Schott announced the Kodiak Public School staff for the 1952 53 year. Classes begin Monday September 8 with enrollment on September 5. Grade 1 requires birth certificates and an age of six by November 1. Cancer Crusade Ends This Week
The Kodiak BPW Cancer Crusade will end this coming week with $757 raised toward a $1,000 goal. Donations continue by mail or hand to members, with jars counted and collected by Wednesday. Funds support public education and cancer research through the American Cancer Society, including lab support. one jar at Idle Hour Bar yielded $70.

Lineman Killed on KEA Pole in Kodiak
A Kodiak Electric Association lineman John Farrow age 40 was killed yesterday after contacting a high voltage line during prep work for a school project. Leon Johnson KEA supervisor on scene shut off power, rescue efforts followed, Farrow held by safety belt as he fell. Survived by his parents in Renton Washington a sister in Ballard and a brother Bud Farrow of Kodiak Naval Station.

City Tax Sale Begins Monday at Kodiak Public School
