The Rotary Club will sponsor a large carnival on the July 4 weekend to fund the Community Center’s summer operations. Plans include navy cooperation and a junior high softball league with base youngsters, pending outstanding pledges and city council support.

KEA Switchboard is Here at Kodiak Plant
KEA installed a new switchboard for two Enter prise engines at the Kodiak Electric Association plant this week. The board arrived aboard the Susitna and was moved to the plant on Thursday. Walter Hanson of San Francisco will conduct initial test runs. Spare parts and pistons for the old Buckeye engines arrived by air to support generation after a recent breakdown.

Break In Benson Water Line May Benefit Kodiak
A Benson water line break Tuesday night may benefit Kodiak by allowing the city water department to identify users who were on the Benson line. Water customers will be asked to file applications for water connections and the city council will decide charges for water previously received. University President Here Briefly
Dr Terris A Moore president of the University of Alaska visited Kodiak briefly yesterday on a goodwill tour. He met with local superintendent Ivor Schott and base superintendent Donald Lawvere. He said the primary aim of the university is to serve graduating high school seniors who wish to go to college. At the base he discussed accredited courses the university plans to sponsor there. Moore was accompanied by Mrs Moore. Dean Harry Brandt arrived at the base by MATS but did not come into town.
