Wade Resigns From Center Over Funding Struggles
Ken Wade, director of the Community Center for four years, has resigned to take a recreation job with the Armed Forces YMCA in Fairbanks effective Dec 1. The center may stay open this summer only if about 2500 dollars is raised, largely from pledges. The board plans a potential half time schedule and may seek Rotary Carnival support with Navy welfare funds offered for July 4. Wade will stay to Sept 1 if kept on part time. final funding and space needs face a board vote next Wednesday.

Senate Statehood Hearings Set to Open in April
