Kodiak Voters OK Dock Action In City Election
In a Tuesday city election 150 voters backed negotiations to acquire the Army dock, 73 opposed. The dock, once owned by Ben Kraft, is unused but not surplus. Voters also approved consolidating the city clerk and treasurer offices and condemning part of an alley to Brooklyn for Kraft’s new store. A. A. Owen led the council race with 119 votes, then Leo Sears and Harry Christopherson, while Viola Sipprel was the lone woman candidate among top finishers.
