Yazoo City duel ends with Dixon fatally shot
In Yazoo City yesterday James Barksdale and Henry M Dixon clashed on Main street as Dixon moved toward a stairway. Barksdale fired twice with a double barreled gun, buckshot struck Dixon in the back killing him at 4 30 p m. Preliminary trial set for tomorrow.

Fire Terrifies Carrollton Mill and Salt Block Blaze
At Carrollton Michigan a large saw mill and salt block owned by Sanborn and Bloss caught fire at 11 30 this forenoon. The blaze consumed the mill salt block two barns four thousand barrels a shed with lumber and wood part of the village is endangered by a strong morning breeze. Loss is estimated at 150000 dollars.
