100000 Strong Again Passes in Detroit Parade
In Detroit on September 22 the American Legion held its 18th postwar review with about 100,000 marching units. Lt. Col. Bodenhamer led the parade from Jefferson Avenue toGrand Boulevard, past almost 100 bands and drum corps from across the country. Three men winging from Lisbon to New York without a stop were rescued off Newfoundland after 148 hours adrift.
