Sullivan County ASC Chairman J Carmack announces ballots will be mailed Tuesday to agricultural producers eligible to vote in ASCS community committee elections. Eligible voters include owners operators tenants and sharecroppers tied to price support crops or ACP programs. Voters should check the ASCS Office in Blounsville to be added to the list. participation in programs is not required, only eligibility.

Nashville reports July commercial meat production across Tennessee reached 60.09 million pounds, up 11 percent from June but 4 percent below July last year. Calves slaughtered rose 9 percent year over year, cattle up 10 percent from June, hogs up, and sheep and lambs down. Overall 4 state red meat total at 2.831 billion pounds, beef 1.753, veal 53 million, pork 971, lamb and mutton 42 million, poultry output 842 million pounds.
