He argued Edward H Crump opposes the picker but should cooperate to apply the machine widely. Rust praised tests at Stoneville Mississippi while noting his brother demonstrates for the Soviet government. He warned banning statewide would hurt cotton producers compete with other fields.
The Communist and Socialist parties will spend more than double their 1932 campaigns. The Communist fund is set at 250000, up from 200000, while Socialists expect 100000, up 76000. Trachtenberg says unemployed and relief recipients, including WPA workers, contribute via one day’s pay assessments and rally fees.
