Robert T Shannon Dies Prominent Tennessee Lawyer
Nashville sept 7 Robert T Shannon a 71 year old attorney famed for compiling Tennessee laws into Shannon's Code died at his home after months of illness. He spent three decades researching and assembling the state laws into his renowned volumes. He published two editions of Shannon's Code in 1896 and 1921 and contributed Shandon's Annotated Constitution of Tennessee and Annotated Cases of Tennessee. Funeral services were arranged for this afternoon.

Rebels Sack Five Destroyers in Chilean Surrender

Delegates representing Great Britain France Japan and Spain urged the League of Nations assembly at Geneva to invite Mexico to become a member. Bodies of Other Powers Victims Sought Under Home
Clarksburg West Virginia September 7. County prisoners began digging beneath the home and small store of Harry F Powers the confessed slayer of two women and three children. Police sought other possible victims amid a strong odor on the lower floor. Mrs Asta Eicher widow of Park Ridge Illinois and her three children and Mrs Dorothy Pressler Lemke of North Uxbridge Massachusetts were buried in a ditch nine miles from Powers garage a week ago. Belongings of both women found at Powers home. Mrs Luetla Powers and Eva Belie Strother wife and sister in custody guarded. Writ against Powers wife and sister in law and attorney J Ed Law Empire Bank of Clarksburg sought to prevent disposal of Powers property. Wade the man Powers sold as vacuum cleaner salesman in 1923 remained at large. The state renewed search for Wade following Lemke relatives obtaining writ.
