Memphis Residents Return Home After Railroad Tank Car Blast
In Memphis, residents of a Southwest Memphis neighborhood returned home after two propane gas tank cars derailed and exploded earlier Wednesday. Flames rose over 200 feet as firefighters fought a three alarm blaze. one firefighter was injured, then released from hospital. The blast occurred while gas was being transferred from damaged cars to empties at Illinois Central Gulf yards near Sarah, Mississippi, three weeks after derailment. The engineer reportedly pulled the tank cars while unaware they were still connected to the tankers.
