4 H Conference Slated Next Week At Fontana
About 25 4 H Club members from seven Tennessee Valley states will attend a Resource Conference in Fontana North Carolina next week. They will study soil water forestry minerals atmosphere human and wildlife in seven groups with a joint meeting Thursday and closing Friday June 9. Dr Fred Robertson director of the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station will speak at the opening Monday June 5. Skid Row Habitue Dies in San Francisco Jail
Ray mond T. Gorman, 62, a Skid Row habitué who vowed to quit drinking after a hotel fire that killed 20, died Sunday in the drunk tank of city prison. Autopsy linked his death to cirrhosis of the liver and pneumonia. The fire at the Thomas Hotel began when a cigarette was dropped on a bed.
