Washington May 25 Special administration efforts to calm labor criticism of the work program wage scale were disclosed as total requests from federal agencies on the 4 billion fund rose by 195,163,350 to nearly 237 million. After talks with Secretary Perkins and AFL leader William Green, officials said the 19 to 94 dollar monthly payments would apply only to real emergency work and that the Bacon-Davis prevailing wage law would cover more than one billion in public works.
