Milligan College Commencement Set For Monday
Milligan College marks its 80th annual commencement Monday at 10 30 on campus with 65 seniors receiving degrees. Former president Charles Earl Burns will deliver the address. he led the college 1941 44 and has held roles from professor of religion to acting president. Burns has taught across Ohio Kentucky Indiana and Florida and retired in 1948 after radio work with WHAS Louisville. The graduating class includes Lief E Clark Jimny Martin Barbara Shoemaker Tommy Starnes Louise Roop Lowell Williams and Garland Jones.

City Court Hears Major Reckless Driving Case In Morristown
James C. Kelly, 23, a truck driver from Morristown, forfeits a $50 bond in City Court on four charges including reckless driving and leaving the scene after his truck struck a utility pole on Wa Center Street yesterday. He told officer Hal Crumley a bee blinded him, sending the vehicle off course as Tennessee Highway Patrol pursued into Hawkins County. The crash caused about 250 damage to the vehicle. In other court action six men were fined 20 each for public drunkenness, a motorist forfeited 20 for speeding and no license, another paid 10 for running a stop sign, two others forfeited 3 bonds for running red lights, a 3.59 bond for illegal parking, and nineteen people were bonded for overtime parking violations.
