The Ringeport Planning Commission will meet at 7 30 p m Thursday May 17 in the council room at City Hall. The Upper East Tennessee Office of Economic Opportunity board will meet at 7 30 p m Thursday May 1 at Douglass School.
Kingsport Red Cross chapter hosts a water safety instructors clinic at Central High School on Saturday May 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Event details include schedule and contact for donations.
Lynn View High School music department presents a spring concert at 7 70 p m in the auditorium. An art exhibit runs in the gymnasium from 7 to 10 p m on Thursday. Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty perform at the Downtown Optimists sponsored show at Dobyns Bennett gym at 8 p m Friday May 18. Dobyns Bennett band and stage band offer a Spring program May 25 at p m in the Civic Auditorium with no admission. The Kingsport FAC Musical presents You're a Good Man Charlie Brown May 18 19 and 20 at the Fine Arts Center with reservations at 246 9351. Alpha Nu sorority sponsors airplane rides May 20 at Tri City Airport starting noon. fare 9 cents per pound. proceeds to Sullivan County Rescue Squad.
Eighth and ninth grade students at Robinson Junior High display their art in the Front entrance from May 14 to 18, 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. Also featuring Kingsport Art Guild member show at the Fine Arts Center main gallery weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays noon to 4 p.m. Allandale Mansion tours weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays 1 to 4:30 p.m. For group tours call Mrs. Moran at 248-8787 or 246-9813.
Kingaport Fire Department responded at 11 48 a m Tuesday to a car fire at the Granby and Netherland Inn Roads intersection. Diane Carter owns the vehicle. The fire was caused by a short in the wiring and the loss was light.
