Fentress Sheriff Dies in Zenith Gun Battle

Knoxvillle May 15 AP Sheriff H V Taylor of Fentress County died of bullet wounds in a hospital after a Zenith mining town gun battle. Taylor was slain while attempting to arrest Cl Tf. Markel 40 a foreman and Edward Slaven 40 a worker. The shooting began when a deputy flagged Markel, who fled and then fired on the sheriff.
