The Tennessee Crop Reporting Service notes parity ratios fall to 78 and 73 while the overall price index for farm products sits at 108 percent of the 1957-59 base. Milk and poultry dips contribute to March-March declines, with soybeans up four cents but still below last April. Prices for oats barley and wheat slip year over year. hay also edges down seasonally. Nationally, the index drops two points to 270 percent of the 1910-34 average as eggs milk lettuce and oranges pull the measure lower amid higher beef prices. The input cost index rises three points to 972 reflecting higher farm wages and production costs.
