Guard Dismissed After Prisoner Escapes at State Penitentiary
Nashville May 8 The warden dismissed a guard at the main penitentiary for negligence after a convict named Frank Wilson serving a 50 year sentence escaped. Wilson allegedly hid in the prison chapel and escaped after climbing a water vent following a period of the chapel being cleared. He was convicted in 1931 at Springfield on rape and robbery charges and had four offenses on record.
