Midwest Twister Toll Rises Across Minnesota Towns
A weekend tornado onslaught plowed through Minneapolis and surrounding towns injuring many and killing at least 11. The storms hit Chanhassen Mound Spring Lake Park Norwood Fridley Mounds View and Coon Rapids among others with hospitals flooded and the National Guard deployed. The disaster followed days after record floods on the Mississippi River and mirrored the earlier destruction across the region.
