Nashville May 4 state auditor J H OConnell testified that General Tire & Rubber Co of Akron charged the state excessive prices for tires and tubes amounting to at least 11200 since June 5 1930. He cited procurement through J Y Crawford Tire Co and Phillips Acuff Tire Co with 12762 98 in cash disbursements and accused lack of competitive bidding and price tampering.
