Court House Hall Raked by Gunfire in Kentucky
A gunfire fusillade in the Bell County Courthouse corridor in Pineville Kentucky left one man dead and four wounded during an examining trial for three men charged in a fatal hold up. Walter Parsons 30 Blackmont shot Creed Collett in a Saturday night killing and died. Mendell Parsons brother of Walter was fatally injured. Odell and Herbert Collett and J Black Howard were arrested for today's shooting. The melee interrupted the trial of Ed Philpot Cart Steve Golden and Ed Brock for the hold up at a Blackmont filling station Saturday night. Walter Parsons had told officers he shot Creed Collett to stop the hold up and named Collett as ringleader of the robbers.

Mose Daniel, a Montgomery negro, was executed in Kilby prison in the electric chair shortly after midnight for attacking a white woman. He went to the chair at 12:19 a. m. and was pronounced dead six minutes later. Daniel had sought clemency earlier in the week before the pardon board.
