Nashville March 19 Recommendations that the state be authorized to borrow 10,000,000 to cover two years of highway work were made by the recess highway committee. Representative Keaton will draft the report for signature Monday. With the loan, the highway system could be nearly finished by July 1, 1928 and the three cent gas tax could cover bonds retirement. The year 1926 tax intake was 8,748,561.24 and county distributions may rise by 1,250,000 in the first year.
