New York March 19 AP leaders of the motor car industry met in executive session to map action against the threat of a strike that could disrupt production. Henry Ford did not attend, remaining independent.
A sporadic wave of labor clashes unfolds with a New York executive committee session near, Washington wage talks, and a New York Regional Labor Board conference. Chicago cleaners, pressmen, and dyers vote to strike over wages from 15 to 47.50 weekly, threatening thousands of jobs. Cleveland painters and varnish workers join, striking today.
The National Automobile Chamber of Commerce directors gathered to address a potential strike set for Wednesday. General Hugh S. Johnson waited nearby to assist if summoned as leaders debated whether manufacturers prefer company unions or AFL control, with decision details to be released after the session.

Cities along the network reported normal service as planes loaded mail and continued scheduled legs.

Lima Ohio March 19 The state pursues Russell Clark for first degree murder in the sheriff Jess Lillinger slaying during the October jail escape linked to the Dillinger gang. Co-defendants Mary Pierpont and Charles Mabley await death sentences. Piquett implicated, authorities seek Clark’s trial and guard lockdown intensified with National Guard on duty.
CHICAGO March 19 UK efforts to extradite John Factor, famed stock promoter and ex-convict, to England for a 7 million dollar swindle case faced a fresh hurdle as a federal hearing weighed orders delaying his return. Factor, who rose from immigrant boy to financier, could be held for transfer by U.S. marshals after a bid by British Crown counsel Franklin Overmeyer. Factor pleaded fear of Illinois jail and sought to stay custody in a hotel room under marshal protection.
In Rome Mussolini addressed 5,000 Fascists promising a sixty year program aimed at Italy’s primacy in the world by the twenty-first century. He framed expansion as natural collaboration with Africa and the Near East, warning against European interference while touching on France and Germany.
In Rabat on March 19, authorities announced pacification of Morocco after 23 years of desert warfare. France's Foreign Legion and two desert armies began the February 24 campaign to crush remaining dissidents in the western lower Atlas region, where 200000 tribesmen once held 4000 square miles. Numerous guerilla clashes occurred with several French casualties, but authorities now say the last tribesmen have laid down arms.

Nashville lawyer A V Loutian testified that former state insurance commissioner J J Reece claimed he wanted to aid the Democratic ticket with a $500 check and later wired funds to support Gov McAlister’s group. Loutian denied Reece’s later allegations of large installments and said the only contribution he received was the $500 check.
