SHIPLEY Ark March 16 Eight members of a family were burned to death and two others seriously injured when a fire destroyed a four room farm home five miles west of here. Mrs Sallie Allen 39 and six of her ten children died in a bedroom while son Ernest 17 escaped by a window and then returned to help others. Olle Allen 40 and Treesa Allen 48 were burned seriously. Six children died in the room with their mother. A world war veteran Allen was taken to the US Veterans hospital at Memphis for treatment. The origin of the fire was not determined and a coroner's jury delayed verdict until Allen and Treesa could be questioned.
