Black Students Walk Out At McNairy County High
About 65 black students walked out of classes at McNairy County Central High School in Selmer in sympathy with the expulsion of a black student. Superintendent Julius Hurst said the walkout followed a Friday fight between a black and a white student. The white student was temporarily expelled. the black student was permanently barred for prior probation and threats to harm staff and set a building fire.
