A 34 year old construction worker Hubert Miller was questioned by six men in connection with the 1933 Kansas City kidnapping of Mary McElroy. Police said Miller denied involvement and was held incommunicado despite not being the suspect. Federal agents said the man sought was Clarence Stevens, 84, whose description matches Miller.

Double Execution Held for Negroes at Tucker Prison Farm
Two young negroes were executed at Tucker Prison Farm for the December attack on a white Memphis girl near West Memphis, Ark. Frank Carter, 26, and Theo Thomas, 28, received two electric shocks each and died within minutes. They walked to the chair unassisted, stated they had nothing to say, and were pronounced dead after the procedures. They had been convicted at Marion, Ark, on January 6.

Missing McCormick scion feared lost in Sandia mountains
Albuquerque June 24 Medili McCormick 21 year old scion of publishing and statesmanship was missing on a hiking trip with Richard Whitmer son of the late T Whitmer. State police and sheriff deputies joined a wide search into the rugged Sandia Mountains after the two youths failed to return from a Wednesday outing. In Greeneville Tennessee two boys died instantly in a gas fumes explosion when an oil tank car ignited after youths allegedly dropped a lighted rock tied to wire into the tank. Frank Branch age 10 was found atop a building about 200 feet from the blast. Fletcher Crum age 12 was blown more than 600 feet away across warehouses and a street.
