Wreck Victims Improve in Kingsport Hospital

Seven Kingsport residents injured in a four car crash on the Jonesboro highway near Kingsport are improving at Appalachian hospital. One 21 year old Kingsport youth Ben Hing died from a fractured skull five hours after admission. Driver William Leroy Pierce and several passengers sustained multiple injuries while two women in another car were uninjured. Aid for farmers will be hastened in relief plan

The Agriculture Department announced steps to speed up benefit payments to farmers hit by falling income and weak farm prices. About 755 million dollars is available under this year’s crop control program, with the first payments totaling 130 thousand dollars to cotton growers who produced last year and who planted within this year’s allotments, potentially starting in August.

Scott Shooting May Cost Life in Scott County

Erwin Ewen Dickerson Dickerson, 25, of Fairview Virginia, lay in critical condition at Community hospital after a late night shooting at the Dickerson home in Scott County. His mother Mrs Maxie Ditharson was also wounded as about eight people were present. Six shots from a 32 calibre pistol were fired, with a stray bullet hitting Erwin in the abdomen while his brother Conley fired a .22 at a possible target in the dark. Youth Admits Slaying Foster Father For Scolding

In Arenac County police found the decomposed body of Edward J. Dulsky, 56, shot May 21 by his 18-year-old adopted son Jason Edward Dulsky after a scolding.
