Have You This Habit
A long feature excerpt recounts Bill Jones a notorious convict who becomes a trusted engineer after a repentant promise to a Texas prison superintendent. He escapes twice, roams globally then returns to reform, earns pardons and later resumes an esteemed engineering career. The piece shifts to a Christmas vignette about Mrs. William seeking a Burns edition, illustrating humane habit and mental fitness through a kind messenger boy.
